Children in underserved or low income areas often do not have easy access to books – especially during the summer – putting them immediately at an academic disadvantage.
One in six adults in Santa Clara County cannot read well enough to fill out a job application or read the instructions on a bottle of medicine.
The Santa Clara County Library District Foundation was established to address these situations. It boosts financial support to library programs which provide free services to the underserved populations in our area. Together we can have a great impact toward increasing literacy and lifelong learning in Santa Clara County!
